Entry Instructions:
**Artists are responsible for reading the directions thoroughly. This is a regional juried exhibition open to artists in Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin. 

CALENDAR 
August 30, 2020 (midnight): Submission Deadline 
Sept. 27, 2020: Acceptance Notification 
Oct. 22-24 & Oct. 27 - 31: Delivered and Shipped artwork arrives
Nov. 14, 2020, 5-8 pm (Saturday): Opening Reception with award announcements  at 6:15 pm 
Feb. 13, 2021 (at 5pm): Exhibition Ends 
Feb. 18 - 20 & Feb. 23 - 27: Pick up hand-delivered artwork during museum hours 
Feb. 24, 2021: Shipped artwork will be sent 

ENTRY RULES 
_All artists must be ages 18 or older and reside in Illinois, Iowa, or Wisconsin. Artists who submit with a non-IL, IA, or WI address will not be considered and will not receive a refund. 
_Each artist may submit up to four (4) works for the entry fee of $40. (Current FAM Members qualify for the reduced fee of $30) Payments must be made online at the end of the submission, with a credit card or PayPal account. Submissions will not be considered if the entry fee is not received.  3D works may submit 2 images of each artwork.
_All works must have been completed within the last 2 years. 
_Works previously exhibited at FAM are ineligible. 
_Only individual works may be entered: portfolios or series will not be considered. 
_Accepted works must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition. 
_By submitting to this exhibition, you are giving permission for the museum to use the images submitted for printing of promotional materials. 

ENTRY MATERIALS 
_Image files should be saved in JPEG format. 
_Image width-minimum 960 pixels; file size 5MB maximum/100KB minimum (video submissions may exceed the 5 MB maximum). 
_If you have trouble submitting videos, please complete the submission form with a still image to represent each video. After the submission is complete, send the digital video file to education@freeportartmuseum.org as an attachment or with a link to download the video from 'cloud' source. 
_**Be sure to upload ALL images before submitting. Artists will not have access to make changes after the 'Submit/PayPal' button is clicked. 
_Include a 1 page Artist Statement which includes your website url and a 1 page Curriculum Vitae (CV) with your submission. (formatting options are word doc. or pdf.) 
_FAM does not retain a commission fee for works sold during the exhibition. Instead, artists will have the option to decide if and how much they would like to donate to the museum after the sale.
_Works not-for-sale will be listed as NFS, but artists are still required to list a value for insurance purposes. [EXAMPLE: NFS/$100 ins.] 

EXHIBITION SPECIFICATIONS 
_Artwork is installed by FAM staff. Works requiring special installation including 2D pieces larger than 6ft., 3D pieces over 100 lb, and installation works, are welcome but must be approved before they are submitted. FAM can provide a monitor for video work. Please call FAM with details. 
_2D artworks must be ready to hang with wire or appropriate hanging hardware. Works on paper should be behind glass or plexi and must include an appropriate hanging device. DO NOT USE SAWTOOTH HANGERS. 
_FAM will insure the accepted artworks at the fair market value while they are on the museum premises, but only between the designated delivery and pick-up dates unless pre-approved by FAM staff. 
_Artworks not picked-up by the end of the designated dates, without prior approval from FAM staff, will no longer be covered by the museum's insurance policy. 
_Artists are responsible for insuring the artwork while the works are in transit. 

SHIPPING AND DELIVERY 
_Artists are expected to attach a typed label identifying the Title, Artist's full name, and Media, to the back of each artwork before it arrives at FAM. All packaging must also have labels to match the artwork it belongs to. 
_Artists who are notified of their acceptance into the exhibition will receive an exhibition contract with their notification letter (via email). This contract must be completed and presented to museum staff when the work arrives at the museum. Do not send the contract in advance of the delivered artwork. 
_Accepted works may be hand-delivered or shipped. 
_Hand-delivered artworks must arrive during regular museum hours on the designated delivery dates. (FAM Hours: Tuesday - Friday, 10 am - 5 pm, Sat. 12 pm - 5 pm, CLOSED Sunday and Monday) 
_Shipped works must arrive in a reusable shipping container with a pre-paid return shipping label and the completed exhibition contract. 
_All accepted artworks must arrive by 5 pm on the last designated delivery date for the beginning of the installation process.
